Artificial Grass Weeds & Pests Protection
The “natural graffiti” of weeds is not a welcome look for the average person, especially after putting in their time and money into creating the perfect outdoor landscape. Aside from being unsightly, weeds also pull out soil nutrients, overshadow other planets and slurp up water. Usually, artificial grass prevents weeds from growing, but you may want to add extra Artificial Grass Weeds & Pests Protection to be safe in some cases.

If your priority is to prevent weed growth in your yard, this fabric will fit perfectly underneath your synthetic grass. Weed Barrier cloth is a spun-bond polypropylene fabric with a hydrophilic treatment that allows more air and water to pass through, thus preventing sunlight and nutrients from reaching the places weeds tend to grow.

Gopher Mesh
Choosing the correct Gopher Mesh is very important. Using a typical chicken/poultry wire or aviary fence is not intended to be buried and will fail in a short period of time. Can use chicken wire, but why invest and install a product that will not last?
We prefer to install a galvanized gopher mesh or hardware cloth with a mesh size of 1/2”x1/2”. We find this ideal because the openings are small and stiff enough to prevent gophers from gaining access to the surface. If they decide to travel to the surface, they will bump their heads on the wire and move along.
Please note that the Gopher Mesh does not inhibit the gophers from burrowing and making their tunnels underneath your artificial grass system. It only helps prevent them from penetrating the surface. Gophers have also been known to chew through the mesh in some cases. Although rare, it has happened. With that said, your artificial grass could experience undulations, dips, or sinkholes due to the tunnels left by the Gophers.
